The Bishop + Seminary = Baptisms

Bishop Lino is our ward's seminary instructor, and he's been going the extra mile with both of his callings.  He made a deal with his students that if everyone brought a friend to seminary, that they'd have a pizza/movie party, and it's a universal rule that if food is involved the greatest of efforts will be taken to participate.  One of the young men that was invited was Lexxxxo.  He has started going to seminary every day for the last few weeks, and he loves the other youth there.  After stake conference last Sunday, we were talking to him and explaining the Book of Mormon, when the Bishop walked over and asked, "Hey Lexxxxo, have you thought about being baptized?"  I was a little shocked by how casually he said it, but I wish someone had taken a photo of Sister Larsen and I's faces when Lexxxxo said, "Yeah, I was thinking next month, or maybe on my birthday in September."
My brain was buffering, but Sister Larsen recovered faster and said, "How about you get baptized this weekend, and we can do something else cool on your birthday instead?"

So, yeah.  We taught all of the lessons in a week and Campinas III is going to gain a new member when he's confirmed this weekend.  The other sisters have been bringing an investigator, Maxxxxs, to seminary as well.  He and Lexxxxo have become immediate friends, and after seeing Lexxxxo's baptism, announced that he´d like to be baptized as well.

In the end, what this rush of progress in the ward has shown me is that one member really can make a difference.  The bishop could have called anyone to take care of seminary, but he decided to accept the call himself and use it to strengthen the ward and its' members.  In a matter of a month!
